ipoque Launches First Entry-Level DPI Bandwidth Management Appliance With Integrated Bypass
PRX Traffic Manager Series With New Additions: PRX-1100 & PRX-2G Bring High-End Features at Competitive Prices
| Quelle: ipoque
BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - August 26, 2009) - ipoque, the leading European provider of
Internet traffic management solutions, today announced that it has released
two new models of its PRX Traffic Manager series. PRX-1100 and PRX-2G
Traffic Manager come with enhanced features, a more flexible configuration,
and functionalities that are unique in this class: fiber-optical
interfaces, integrated bypass and handling of asymmetric traffic.
ipoque's PRX Traffic Manager offers network operators a comprehensive and
cost-effective bandwidth management solution, enabling them to monitor and
control network traffic per application and per subscriber. The solution
makes network activities more transparent and is able to prioritize, shape,
and optimize classified traffic and helps institutions of all sectors to
keep up with the challenges of growing Internet traffic in their networks.
PRX Traffic Manager Series
PRX-1100 is ipoque's new entry-level device that inherits the advanced
64-bit multiprocessor architecture from the high-end models, which makes it
ready for future growth of data rates and rising application diversity.
Unique for its class, it features an integrated bypass that makes the
appliance suitable for deployments even in mission-critical network
segments.
Its industry-leading price-performance ratio puts DPI bandwidth management
in reach of small network operators as can be found in rural areas,
developing countries or also in the hospitality industry. These operators
often struggle with network congestion and poor performance -- while
lacking the funds necessary for network upgrades. Their key requirement is
a near-instant return on investment.
PRX-2G combines the abilities of two traffic manager models in one device.
In addition to its copper Gigabit Ethernet ports, it also supports up to
four fiber interfaces. Its high performance of up to 2 Gbit/s throughput in
a small 1U chassis make it suitable for deployment in Internet service
provider networks with up to 250,000 subscribers.
"When we started planning the new models, we tried to anticipate our
customers' expectations. With our PRX-10G and PR-5G Traffic Managers, we
offer premium devices to the carrier market. Small service providers,
however, need affordable solutions that offer fast ROI but do not sacrifice
performance and reliability," said Hendrik Schulze, CTO of ipoque.
In particular, PRX-1100 has been designed with these requirements in mind.
A single system provides DPI bandwidth management for two network links at
up to 400 Mbit/s at a competitive price. The integrated bypass feature
ensures uninterrupted connectivity in case of a system failure.
PRX Traffic Manager series ranges from the small PRX-20 with 40 Mbit/s
throughput to the carrier-grade PRX-10G with proven 75 Gbit/s performance.
The new devices replace PRX-1000 and PRX-1G Traffic Managers.
