CANYON LAKE, Texas, Aug. 31, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COPsync, Inc. (OTCBB:COYN), a software technology provider to law enforcement and emergency service professionals, announced today that the Company's management team had an opportunity to present a software demonstration to the Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police (MDCACP) regarding the benefits of COPsync's mobile data collect and information sharing interface.
According to COPsync CEO Russell Chaney, "COPsync's software could be a significant contributor to departments within the Miami-Dade area. Our software improves department efficiency, enables real-time information sharing and provides officers in the field with electronic capabilities not currently available to Law Enforcement. It is apparent that the current economic climate necessitates process improvements, not only in Miami-Dade but by agencies throughout the United States. This is where COPsync can assist agencies. As shown during our product demonstrations, efforts such as e-citation and e-crash reduce officer time consumption by better than 30%-40% over traditional manual processes. Further, the real-time information sharing and other features provided by our software tremendously improve officer efficiency and safety. The goal of this meeting was never centered on a presentation leading to the next-steps in the typical sales process. My goal was to present to see if there was value identified by these leaders and if they would be open to further discussions. I believe it was clearly evident the value was recognized and the door was left open for us to move ahead. From a business stand-point, we must methodically grow our business in accordance with our capital on hand. I believe that very shortly this economic crisis will be overcome and COPsync will be in a position to move forward aggressively in key markets such as Miami-Dade County."
Management will hold further discussions with the Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police in the near future. The COPsync software is the first and only integrated software product that provides a real-time, nationwide information sharing network for law enforcement officers. Via a laptop computer or handheld device, the user is able to immediately identify criminals, communicate with other officers, and access life saving and mission critical information.
"We strongly believe that the COPsync software is not only the right solution at the right time, but the only solution that has the ability to enable full real-time information sharing across the US and within Miami-Dade County. We hope in the near future to be able to assist Miami-Dade law enforcement officers to become more effective and efficient during these tough economic times and for years to come," continued Mr. Chaney.
The MDCACP, www.mdcacp.org, has served as a vital link among the various agencies in Miami-Dade County during its rich and lengthy history. Throughout the years, the MDCACP has been instrumental in promoting best practices, policy development, technological advancements and addressing areas of mutual interest.
