Hovig Melkonian Joins RIA In A Box as Compliance Director and Auditor

HOUSTON, TX--(Marketwire - September 2, 2009) - RIA In A Box (www.riainabox.com), a consulting business aimed exclusively at efficient creation of registered investment advisory firms, today announced that Hovig Melkonian has joined the firm as Compliance Director and Auditor. Melkonian is providing the RIA In A Box's mock audit services to RIA firms. His audit services will offer extra preparation for SEC and state regulatory audits for RIAs which want it.

Prior to joining RIA In A Box, Melkonian worked at Goldman Sachs as a consultant in their Compliance Department. He earned his JD at Hofstra Law School and his undergraduate degree at St. John's University.

At RIA In A Box, Melkonian will be responsible for mock audits where he will review materials such as the ADVs, client agreements, files and folders, books and records, policies and procedures, and advertising, marketing and promotion materials which the state or the SEC will look for during a standard first-year audit. The mock audits, which take between three and five hours, include an interview with the RIA firm principal to ensure all the materials and information are in synch and Melkonian will also answer additional compliance questions.

Finally, Melkonian's audits include a random sampling of all materials and he will provide the RIA owners with an audit report highlighting any potential issues and suggestions for improvements.
