Neah Power Names Dr. Reza Abhari to Strategic Advisory Board


BOTHELL, Wash., Sept. 10, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Neah Power Systems, Inc., ('Neah') (OTCBB:NPWZ) www.neahpower.com, the Company developing fuel cell based renewable energy solutions, announced today that Dr. Reza Abhari has been re-appointed to the Company's Strategic Advisory Board.

Dr. Abhari is professor of Energy Technologies at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich (ETH), where his focus is research and development of advanced energy conversion systems and breakthrough technologies.

"Dr. Abhari's extensive technical expertise, his entrepreneurial and advisory services, and his understanding of the renewable energy marketplace will complement our strong strategic advisory board," said Dr. Chris D'Couto, President & CEO of Neah Power. Dr. Abhari has been a consultant to numerous prestigious public and private corporations such as: Alstom Power, a global leader in power generation; Daimler, General Electric, Honeywell, and Toshiba Corp. He is currently a member of the Supervisory board of First Climate, a global leader in carbon asset development and trading of Carbon Emission Reduction credits, as well as PNE Wind (PNE3.DE), a renewable energy development company with offices in Europe and the U.S.

Within the public sector, Dr. Abhari's service includes government environmental, energy and aerospace organizations, including past Chairmanship of the ASME International Gas Turbine Institute; and NASA Glenn Research Center's Working Group focusing on aeronautical research.

Professor Abhari is a member of the prestigious Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences, and a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Professor Abhari received his PhD from MIT (1991) in Aeronautics and Astronautics and his MA and BA from Oxford University in Engineering Sciences.
