Long Standing Arizona Not for Profit Changes Name to VALLEYLIFE

PHOENIX, AZ--(Marketwire - September 14, 2009) - Valley of the Sun School and Habilitation Center, one of Arizona's oldest not for profits serving individuals with disabilities, has changed their name to VALLEYLIFE. The organization, started more than 62 years ago, feels the simplified name more clearly reflects their programs, services, and members today. Along with an updated website and new logo, the new name will be officially revealed at the 5th Annual Legacy of Love Dinner and Silent Auction on September 30, 2009, at The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Banquet Hall on 1973 East Maryland Avenue in Phoenix.

VALLEYLIFE is a not for profit organization founded in 1947 by Mrs. Bernice Kussel, who generously opened her home to children with disabilities. VALLEYLIFE has more than 400 staff members and delivers services to more than 450 individuals with disabilities ranging in age from one to 79. The organization has expanded its services to 24 shared living homes throughout the Metro Phoenix area. Though no longer a school, they do provide adult day services at 10 locations and offers vocational training to help prepare members for employment in the community. They also provide service at individual's homes that need assistance with their disabled loved one.

The new logo represents VALLEYLIFE literally and figuratively with a featured painting representing Arizona that was created by one of VALLEYLIFE's valued members. Most facilities prominently display a variety of beautiful and unique artwork created by its members and that is why they chose to make the client's artwork a vital part of the new image. The art transcends, unifies and celebrates life.

The 5th Annual Legacy of Love Dinner and Silent Auction starts with a cocktail social hour at 5:30PM followed by dinner at 6:30PM. Doc Ali will be the emcee and the entertainment is The J.
