Tenet Healthcare Corp. (THC) operates acute care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers and diagnostic imaging centers. As of June 30, the Company operated 50 acute care hospitals in 12 states; 56 outpatient centers in 11 states; 13,584 licensed beds; and employs 60,297.

"The Company said in its latest 10-Q that operations have been affected by fluctuating volumes, a drop in cardiac procedures, and higher levels of bad debts. Management stated that profitability can be achieved by lowering bad debts and maintaining revenue levels.
"In early September, the Company raised earnings expectations for the year following a better-than-expected month of August activity. The Company now expects earnings of $141 million, up from previous estimates of $76 million. Year-end cash is anticipated to total within a range of $500 million and $635 million by the close of the fiscal year."
