MARIMEKKO REFURBISHES ITS SHOP IN STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN AND OPENS A NEW STORE IN    
TAMPERE, FINLAND                                                                

Marimekko opened its refurbished and expanded retail shop in Stockholm, Sweden  
on 7 October 2009. The store is situated in its original location in Stockholm's
popular shopping district, where several well-known clothing and interior       
decoration shops are concentrated. The revamped shop supports the company's     
long-term internationalisation strategy and strengthens Marimekko's presence in 
the Nordic capitals. The shop can now showcase Marimekko design more extensively
and offer its customers the full range of Marimekko treasures, from well-loved  
classics to the latest arrivals. The opening of the store will be celebrated    
today.                                                                          

A new Marimekko shop opens today in Tampere, Finland. The store has been built  
in an old, beautifully renovated bank in a very central location. The shop      
carries a representative selection of Marimekko products, giving prominence to  
new fashion and interior decoration items.                                      

The light and colourful shop interiors, based on Marimekko's new store concept, 
reflect the company's philosophy of everyday beauty and happiness and a positive
attitude to life. In both shops, customers will discover a world of excitement

Marimekko has 23 retail shops of its own in Finland and three abroad: in        
Frankfurt, London and Stockholm. In addition, there are about 55 retailer-owned 
Marimekko concept stores worldwide.
