SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - October 30, 2009) - The first charity event held by Feed Our
Children, a new Bay Area non-profit organization, and GYRO's 4-D Fear
Factory, on October 8th, 2009, was a tremendous success. The two groups
provided over 1,000 tickets to six local charities, enabling youth and
their families to attend the Grand Opening of GYRO's 4-D Fear Factory, a
Haunted House attraction taking place at Raging Waters in San Jose through
October 31st, 2009.
"Feed Our Children places special focus on working with low income
families because, equipped with the proper resources, families have the
power to help other families -- and entire communities -- escape poverty,"
said Dan Nelson, Executive Director of Feed Our Children. "Feed Our
Children will create and organize yearly events that will benefit our
local youth with the things they need to grow and thrive into active
members of our community."
Attending the Grand Opening of GYRO's 4-D Fear Factory in support of the
charities were celebrity guests Daniel Baldwin (Cold Case/The Closer/NYPD
Blue), Jeremy Ray Valdez (La Mission), Walter Perez (Fame) and Jonathan
Bennet (Mean Girls).
Tickets, worth $29,950, were provided to youth and their families from the
following charities:
-- Silicon Valley FACES
-- Variety Children's Charity of Northern California
-- HealthTrust
-- Mayor's Gang Prevention Task Force
-- Stanford Blood Center
-- Family Supportive Housing
