BALTIMORE, Dec. 9, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- View Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:VSYM), a security and tele-data solutions provider, announced today that the company plans to send representatives to staff the ViewScan units that will be screening all guests coming through the main entrance of the "Charm of Macao: 10 Year Celebration of Macao's Return to China."
This illustrious celebration is presented by the Office of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs, Ministry of Culture and P.R. China, and is being organized by the Macao SAR Government Informational Bureau and the Cultural Affairs Bureau of the Macao SAR Government.
Macao is located in southern China on the west side of the Pearl River Delta, sixty kilometers across the water from Hong Kong. For centuries, the cosmopolitan city of Macao has been a center for the fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. On December 20, 1999, Macao returned to the administrative control of the People's Republic of China. (Source: www.culturalink.gov.cn).
This unit placement comes after View's international dealer, Shanghai Zhongbao Security Business Consulting Co., Ltd., a premier security solutions firm based in Shanghai, China, ordered a total of 50 ViewScans last year. The firm took delivery of 20 of the 50 portals some time ago, and placed a few at the Macao Police Bureau.
ViewScan is fast becoming the choice screening system, both domestically and internationally. It's a computer-based system that can scan up to 1200 people per hour. As a person passes through the portal, along with a photograph, threat objects are visually located on the computer screen and an audible alert can be set to sound. The ViewScan produces no harmful emissions so it's safe for everyone.
Lolita Liu, a representative of SZSBC, states, "This celebration is a very important part of Chinese culture and will be attended by many people. ViewScans have been chosen as the method of screening due to their reputation for fast throughput and accurate processing."
Gunther Than, CEO of View Systems, states, "The emerging Asian market demonstrates that along with affluence and economic growth comes the responsibility to protect valuable assets. The call for security coverage at this revered celebration has sparked a consciousness of the further need for people-screening at prestigious events. We anticipate a long and profitable relationship with Shanghai Zhongbao Security Business Consulting and are looking forward to providing aid with the event's security screening measures."
