BOTHELL, Wash., Dec. 22, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Neah Power Systems, Inc., ('Neah') (OTCBB:NPWZ) www.neahpower.com, the Company selling renewable energy solutions utilizing its unique silicon-based micro fuel cells, announced that it has received orders for 107 of SolCool's direct current (dc) air conditioning 1.5 ton systems with a wholesale value of greater than $350,000 that can operate off the grid to a variety of customers throughout the world.
Initial global wholesale customers include numerous renewable energy contractors, major cell phone carriers in the United States and India, the State of Idaho, a testing contractor for the U.S. Navy, and green builders and universities. "These dc air conditioning systems are integral to our RAPS (Remote Area Power Supplies), which allows us to offer, along with our partners, pollution-free, renewable energy in regions of the world, such as China, India, and Africa, that still do not have electricity," said Dr. Chris D'Couto, Neah CEO.
"The new Securus system can save up to 75% of the energy costs associated with cooling and heating equipment rooms, residences and offices. The all direct current system uses non-ozone-depleting refrigerant, is an easy-to-install ductless split, has long term reliability and extends the capability of back up power systems. It also minimizes the renewable hardware necessary to support climate control in off grid situations. We are excited to be able to provide these value-added, off-the-grid and grid-connected solutions to our customers," said Mark Walsh, Manager of SolCool.
