Chicago New Year's Eve Party With Joe Piscopo at Germania Place Helps Kids Fight Cancer

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - December 30, 2009) - Looking for a special way to celebrate New Year's Eve while giving back to a good cause? Join Joe Piscopo in helping Kids Fight Cancer, a nonprofit organization that has been funding the Oncology Activity Center in Chicago's Children's Memorial Hospital since 1985. This unforgettable New Year's Eve celebration will be held on Dec. 31, 2009 at Germania Place, set in the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast, just north of Division near Clark Street. The event is open to the public and tickets are now available.

Joe Piscopo will entertain and emcee the event in cooperation with Germania Place and Chicago's Kids Fight Cancer organization. A survivor of thyroid cancer himself, Piscopo is especially involved in performing for charitable causes. As a film and television star, Piscopo is recognized around the world and has proven to be one of the brightest lights in show business. In 1980, he joined the cast of "Saturday Night Live." When he left the show in 1985, Piscopo had left his mark on the program, thanks to his wide range of hilarious original characters and celebrity impersonations, including Frank Sinatra, who repeatedly endorsed Piscopo's portrayal of him, referring to Joe as "The Vice-Chairman of the Board."

The Kids Fight Cancer New Year's Eve Benefit at Germania Place will also feature The Lewis Brothers, sons of Chicago jazz legend Ramsey Lewis. The Lewis Brothers perform at numerous local and national venues and will showcase their unique style of jazz to set the mood for this festive evening.

Two event packages are available, both including entertainment. The VIP Package is $300 per person, and features a meet-and-greet with Joe Piscopo, a seven course gourmet seated dinner in the Royal Ballroom, premium open bar and VIP seating for the entertainment. Doors open at 6 p.m. Also available is a Platinum Concert Package for $150 per person, which features a sumptuous buffet and premium open bar. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for the Platinum Concert Package.
