Brightpoint Selects RedPrairie to Provide Warehouse and Transportation Management Systems

INDIANAPOLIS, Jan. 21, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Brightpoint, Inc. (Nasdaq:CELL) (“Brightpoint”) announced today that it has selected RedPrairie Corporation (“RedPrairie”) to provide both Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS) solutions, which will be executed as part of a global implementation schedule, likely starting in the EMEA region in early 2010.

“Our global growth requires a technology solution that adapts to meet our clients’ evolving needs,” said Jac Currie, Chief Information Officer, Brightpoint, Inc. “RedPrairie’s platform will help to enhance our competitive edge through improved supply chain visibility, innovation and functionality.”

Taking into account the increasing complexities in Brightpoint’s global business and its customers' current and future requirements will be instrumental in dictating the pace at which the Company applies the RedPrairie platform. RedPrairie’s productivity solutions have an industry reputation for helping companies support their business strategies for increasing revenue, reducing costs and creating a competitive advantage. Based on the competitive selection process, which included workshops, direct reference interaction, evaluation of technical architecture and the continuity of suppliers, Brightpoint selected the RedPrairie solution.

“RedPrairie looks forward to helping Brightpoint meet their customers’ needs with the implementation of our WMS and TMS solutions,” said Mike Mayoras, CEO of RedPrairie. “These solutions help address needs for speed, accuracy, visibility and flexibility required to manage increasingly complex, global supply chains. We are pleased to be working alongside a company who places such a high premium on customer service.”

Brightpoint Europe will continue to develop the Business Services Center which will centralize specific business support (or back office) functions to be shared across all Brightpoint properties in the region and to execute its plan of consolidating its current warehouse facilities and creating strategically located hubs or Centers of Excellence. The Centers of Excellence and the addition of the RedPrairie platform will result in the efficiencies, enhancements and best practices necessary to meet our cost and effectiveness objectives in the region. This streamlines our operations in the region, which ultimately will allow our vendors and customers to take costs out of their supply chain.
