HOUSTON, Feb. 9, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Newswire.net, Inc., a subsidiary of Extensions, Inc (Pink Sheets:EXTI) (http://www.ext.com/">www.ext.com), a technology company focusing on converting social media into keyword Search Engine Optimization (SEO) content, announced today that Erin Saxton, President and Founder of The Idea Network, Inc., will serve as Newswire's new Chief Executive Officer. "With the addition of Saxton, Newswire is continuing to grow into a full service Social Network News Agency," stated Extensions, Inc. President and Hotels.com founder, Jeff Black.
Saxton brings to Newswire more than 18 years of experience in the media and public relations field. Her career began with ABC Network's news division in 1992, working as a production assistant on "Good Morning America." Her talents as a clear thinking, organized communicator were quickly recognized, and after less than a year with ABC she began work on the senior production staff of The Barbara Walters Specials. For four years Saxton was responsible for coordinating many phases of the production with the Executive Producer and Walters herself.
Over the next few years Saxton worked with Rosie O'Donnell as head of her show's research department, and as producer of the WBIS+ Morning Show, until becoming instrumental as a Producer in the launch of the ABC's Daytime information and variety show "The View." Working alongside Barbara Walters once again, Saxton earned four Emmy nominations for "The View," being responsible from 1997 to 2000 for many aspects of the show's daily information segments. Saxton rubbed elbows with A-list celebrities, music groups and experts, booking them for the show and preparing for their appearances. Saxton learned from "the other side" what would attract the attention of someone in the media, and what would get someone booked on a top-rated television talk show.
In 2000 Saxton left "The View" to found her own company, The Idea Network, Inc. As President and Chief Executive Officer for the agency, Saxton put to work her vast contacts in the media world which she developed as a producer, as well as her own talents and skills, to help others mount effective media publicity campaigns. One of the Idea Network's slogans, "the ones the media calls back," illustrates Saxton's ability to get her clients face-time on television, print coverage in leading magazines and national newspapers, internet presence and voice-time on radio . Another tag line of Saxton's, "If 15 minutes of fame were enough, we would all be celebrities," shows the determination Saxton puts into ensuring that her clients' campaigns make an enduring impact.
Saxton will bring all this wealth of talent and experience to her new role as Chief Executive Officer of Newswire. She will be the prime mover in helping guide the internet's premier social network news agency and wire service to continue to redefine publicity and press for the information age.
