SmallCapSentinel.com: In Good Company

LAS VEGAS, March 11, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- As an industry or sector gains in popularity, invariably deals professing to be players in said niche with little more than a company name and an alluring title will emerge. From resources to dot coms, the market has seen its share of wannabes.

Then there's Juhl Wind Inc. (OTCBB:JUHL), which adds to its growing credibility and resume with an announcement this morning that includes two pretty prestigious names, Honeywell International and the Department of Energy. According to the published report, Juhl Wind and Honeywell International have been awarded a United States Department of Energy program to test the application of an advanced "Condition Monitoring System" to provide remotely controlled data monitoring for turbine maintenance.  Within the project, Honeywell will be providing technology which is designed to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs of turbine systems and Juhl will be providing the field application, installation, monitoring and support.

This is interesting on two levels. First, Juhl followers should be pleased that the company has been included in a test with Honeywell and for the DOE. As Juhl's CEO stated in the release, this is the first federal project in which Juhl will have an active role.

Additionally, should the testing within the program be successful, it seems logical to expect that this would be a positive event for Juhl as it endeavors to increase its presence in the intriguing wind energy sector.
