WESTFIELD, NJ--(Marketwire - March 23, 2010) - QuestaWeb, Inc. (www.questaweb.com), a premier provider of Web-based integrated Global Trade Management (GTM) solutions, announced today that it has developed its second European Union (EU) software component -- an automated Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS) -- to complement its EU Intrastat module. The EMCS module allows transmission and validation of the electronic Accompanying Administrative Document (e-AAD) via an Extensible Markup Language (XML) channel, while the Intrastat module compiles statistics on goods movement between EU member states. Notably, QuestaWeb subjected its EMCS module to the HMRC (HM Revenue & Customs) recognition process and successfully completed all requirements. HMRC granted QuestaWeb's EMCS module Internet Recognition and lists the firm on its website as a software developer with that designation.
The EMCS module gives both member states and businesses the capability to monitor all movements of excise goods in duty suspension within the EU. The Intrastat module automates required data reporting on the movement of goods between EU member states.
Leon Turetsky, QuestaWeb CEO, says, "Adding the Intrastat and EMCS software components to our suite of multi-national trade solutions represents yet another critical step in our business expansion efforts and places us closer to our overall objective of penetrating international markets. By offering advanced GTM solutions designed specifically for the EU marketplace, QuestaWeb recognizes both the prominence of the EU in global trade and the inherent flexibility of our software. Our technology can automate cross-border trade processes virtually anywhere in the world and combine transactions with rich content, helping supply chain parties move goods in a rapid, secure and compliant manner."
