Canyon Acres Blue Ribbon Gala to Take Place Saturday, May 15

Agency to Kick Off 30-Year Anniversary Celebrations at Premier Annual Fundraiser

ORANGE, Calif., March 30, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Canyon Acres Children and Family Services, a Southern California charity organization committed to providing homes, care, treatment and supportive services for abused, neglected and emotionally troubled children and their families, today announced the 2010 Blue Ribbon Gala will take place on Saturday, May 15 at the prestigious St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point. The Gala is traditionally the agency's largest fundraiser and will launch a series of events to celebrate Canyon Acres' 30-year anniversary. The agency expects more than 300 guests and aims to raise more than $300,000 dollars.

The Gala includes dinner, live and silent auctions and an interactive opportunity prize area. The evening's grand prize will be a custom jewelry piece, donated by Black Starr & Frost. Auction highlights include fabulous jewels, exciting sports packages, a luxury trip to Greece, wine dinners at beautiful estates, a private dinner on a yacht catered by Antonello Ristorante, Natalie Cole concert tickets with backstage passes and a post-show meet-and-greet -- and much more. This year's event will also feature the honoring of past and present board members and service award recipients by showcasing the great strides Canyon Acres has made over the years due, in large part, to their help and support.

Each gala honors an individual, a corporation and an organization with the Jim Murray Memorial Service Award for exemplifying the late board member's unwavering support and dedication to Canyon Acres. This year's recipients are Tim and Marci Salmon, Chili's Bar & Grill and Kappa Delta Sorority Alumnae of Orange County.

Major event sponsors include TROY Group, Inc. and Yard House. Additional sponsors include Bock Communications, Merrill Lynch, South Coast Winery, Total Spectrum Advertising and Wells Fargo. Board member Christine Bock will chair the event.

"This year's gala is shaping up to be an incredible night," said Clete Menke, President of Canyon Acres. "As a kick-off party for our 30th anniversary, complete with a special multimedia Canyon Acres Experience, the event will bring us closer than ever to delivering on our mission to provide hope, care and love to the children and families who need it most."

Tickets are $300 per person and tables of ten begin at $3,000. For more information, please visit www.canyonacres.org.
