Integral Systems Announces Seven Year Extended Interference Detection and Geolocation Maintenance Contract With Sky Perfect JSAT

Asia's Largest Satellite Operator Relies on SAT Corporation Monics(R) and Integral Systems satID to Provide Carrier Monitoring, Interference Detection and Analysis and Geolocation of SKY Perfect JSAT's Entire Fleet of Satellites

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 29, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Integral Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:ISYS) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, SAT Corporation has received a seven year contract to provide continued support to SKY Perfect JSAT's existing Monics CSM and satID Geolocation systems.

Utilizing SAT Corporation's Digital Signal Processing (DSP) technology, Monics is a state-of-the-art radio frequency monitoring system that provides automatic monitoring of SKY Perfect JSAT's carriers.  SKY Perfect JSAT chose the Monics system because it provides carrier monitoring and interference detection in a fraction of the time of a classic spectrum analyzer.  In addition, Monics' unique algorithms automatically detect, characterize, and display interfering signals and allow results to be viewed at any time. With the satID system, interfering signals are Geolocated accurately within four kilometers and in a fraction of a time of competing solutions.

"We are pleased SKY Perfect JSAT has selected SAT Corporation to continue support of their Carrier Monitoring and Geolocation requirements," said Bob Potter, president of SAT Corporation. "Our strong position in the industry allows us to partner with companies like SKY Perfect JSAT to provide a system that achieves their individual, as well as their customer's operational efficiency goals."

SKY Perfect JSAT is Japan's largest platform service provider in terms of channels and subscribers.  With 12 satellites covering all of Japan and Asia, as well as Oceania and North America, it is also the largest satellite operator in Asia.  This extensive network is used to support program transmission via the SKY PerfecTV! and SKY PerfecTV! e2 multichannel pay TV services, as well as provision of relay circuits for terrestrial television stations.

ABOUT SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation

The merger of JSAT Corporation, SKY Perfect Communications, Inc., and Space Communications Corporation in October 2008 has resulted in the creation of SKY Perfect JSAT Corporation, the core operating company of the SKY Perfect JSAT Group.

Since the inception of the satellite communications and the CS digital broadcasting industries, these three firms have experienced cycles of competition and M&A activities, ultimately integrating management functions under the banner of a holding company, and finally becoming SKY Perfect JSAT. Today, the satellite communications business has capitalized on its superior position in the market to offer services, expand market share, and compete and/or partner with global powerhouses. The multi-channel pay TV broadcasting business has entered an era in which companies must be able to bring an integrated capacity to bear, answering consumer demand for better CS digital broadcasting and flexible transmission routes (mobile, IP and other), all within an environment in which the march toward broadband in various media formats is driven by continuously advancing technologies.

The new SKY Perfect JSAT maximizes the strengths available from a hybrid business, operating both a stable satellite business and a proven, high-growth multi-channel pay TV business under one roof, while at the same time building better services and a greater capacity to compete through efficient and agile business management policies. http://www.sptvjsat.com/company_index
