Revolutionary Guitar Tuning Technology Developer EverTune Raises $800,000

Prominent Music and Tech Angels Provide Seed Round for Popular Science Innovation Award Winner

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - May 25, 2010) -  Technology to eliminate the need to ever tune a guitar once it is in tune, today announced the company has received $800,000 in seed funding from music industry insiders and veterans Dave Weiderman and Mark Chayet, William Quigley of Clearstone Venture Partners, and virtual goods pioneer Brock Pierce; in addition, Weiderman, Quigley and Pierce are now acting as directors, and Chayet as CEO. With this funding, EverTune will be moving forward in its quest to make the constant tuning of guitars a thing of the past by bringing EverTune bridges to instruments across the $3 billion guitar market.

CEO Mark Chayet brings over twenty years of music industry experience to EverTune. Having worked in production, sales and distribution over the course of his career, Chayet is best known for founding Evermark, a CD and DVD manufacturing, distribution and warehousing company that sold profitably to a large partnership in Nashville.

"Between winning an invention award from Popular Science magazine and receiving the financial support of such industry leaders like Dave Weiderman, we feel confident that we're moving in the right direction with our product," commented Mark Chayet, CEO, EverTune.

In development for more than four years, the EverTune stay-in-tune bridge is based on simple mechanical principles that run the strings of a guitar through an all-mechanical adaptive spring tensioner that requires no electricity. It is located within the guitar's body to maintain constant string tension and, therefore, keeps the guitar perfectly in tune and intonated. EverTune's bridge works to continually maintain the string tension required for all strings to remain in tune -- no matter how a string is pulled, bent or a tuning post is twisted, and regardless of humidity or temperature changes.

The EverTune bridges will be available in the aftermarket, as well as an original equipment manufacturer.
