Entropic Communications Names Dr. Michael Farese, Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations

Industry Veteran Strengthens Engineering, Innovation Expertise in Company

(Nasdaq:ENTR), a leading provider of silicon and software solutions to enable connected home entertainment, today announced that Dr. Michael Farese has joined the Company as Senior Vice President, Engineering and Operations. In this new role, Dr. Farese will be responsible for guiding Entropic's global engineering and operations organizations, including product development, program management, quality, technical operations, and supply management.

A recognized leader in the semiconductor industry, Dr. Farese brings more than 30 years of professional technology experience to Entropic. Prior to his joining the Company, Dr. Farese held a number of executive management positions, including: CEO at Bitwave Semiconductor, which developed the industry's first programmable RFIC transceiver platform for mobile applications, President and CEO at WJ Communications, a leading provider of semiconductors, President and CEO at Tropian, a provider of cellular ASICs, and, Senior Vice President of Engineering at Palm, Inc., to name a few.
