Thermadyne Holdings Set to Join Russell 2000 Index

ST. LOUIS, June 22, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Thermadyne Holdings Corporation (Nasdaq:THMD) is set to join the broad-market Russell 2000® Index when Russell Investments reconstitutes its comprehensive set of U.S. and global equity indexes on June 25, according to a preliminary list of additions posted on www.russell.com.

Annual reconstitution of Russell's U.S. indexes captures the largest U.S. stocks as of the end of May, ranking them by total market capitalization with designation of the large-cap Russell 1000® Index or small-cap Russell 2000® Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes which remain in place for one year. Russell determines membership for its equity indexes primarily by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

Martin Quinn, President of Thermadyne, remarked, "The expected addition to the Russell 2000 Index represents another milestone for Thermadyne as we increase awareness of the Company for a wider range of investors."

Russell indexes are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for both passive and active investment strategies with almost $4 trillion in assets currently benchmarked to them.
