NAPA, CA--(Marketwire - July 1, 2010) - Celebrating the next chapter in its storied history under new ownership, Silverado Resort, a 1,200-acre historic golf resort in Napa Valley's wine country, is offering a package plan that includes fireplace-suite accommodations and half-price golf rounds to reintroduce itself to longtime patrons and welcome first-time guests.
Silverado's Golf Break package offers 18 holes of golf and accommodations in a one-bedroom, fireplace suite beginning at $299 per person, per night, double occupancy. The golf rounds represent a savings of 50 percent off regular rates. The package can be booked at www.dolce.com or by calling the resort directly at (800) 532-0500.
Speaking on behalf of Silverado Resort Investment Group LLC, the property's new owner, Johnny Miller, World Golf Hall of Fame member and lead golf analyst for NBC Sports, said the Golf Break package "is our way of welcoming back longtime guests and inviting a new generation of guests and golf enthusiasts to help us celebrate the beginning of a new era."
Miller recently became one of Silverado's owners along with Roger Kent, a former longtime Californian who founded Rug Doctor, a manufacturer of carpet and upholstery cleaners, and served as the company's chairman and chief executive officer; and another California native, Tim Wall, chief executive officer of a consumer products company in the Dallas area.
In conjunction with the ownership change, the investors today announced the appointment of Dolce Hotels and Resorts, operator of 26 upscale hotels, resorts and conference hotels in North America and Europe, as its manager.
A California landmark for more than 140 years, Silverado began its life as a private estate and was converted into a contemporary resort featuring 439 guest suites, a 15,000-square foot executive conference center, two championship golf courses and two signature restaurants, surrounded by Napa Valley's more than 200 wineries.
The new owners envision repositioning the resort and its two 18-hole, championship golf courses as upper-upscale facilities and establishing a golf school to be named the Johnny Miller Golf Academy in conjunction with their dream of creating "a new iconic golf experience."
"I've played golf at Silverado more often than anywhere else, and I enjoy it as much today as the first time," Miller said. "My vision is to bring Silverado back to its former glory so that families, golfers and groups of all kinds can share the same wonderful experiences that I have enjoyed in the Napa Valley during the last 30 years."
Dolce Hotels and Resorts, headquartered in Montvale, N.J., and majority-owned by Broadreach Capital Partners, employs approximately 4,000 worldwide. Additional information is available at www.dolce.com.
