Aconex Collaboration Technology Supports US$2.8 Billion Mine Expansion in Canada

TORONTO--(Marketwire - August 10, 2010) - Cook Engineering has selected to use the Aconex online project collaboration platform on the US$2.8 billion Rocanville potash mine expansion in Saskatchewan, Canada.

Aconex will provide the organizations involved in the development with a central, web-based platform for managing project information such as drawings, documents and correspondence. By using the system, project members will be able to access, distribute, track and archive their data in real time, from any location and at any time.

The expansion of Rocanville mine is expected to boost capacity by 2.7 million tonnes a year when it is completed at the end of 2012. Cook Engineering is using Aconex on its Scissors Creek development, which involves sinking a new mine shaft into a previously untapped deposit of potash.

Dwayne Ziebarth, Engineering Project Coordinator at Cook Engineering, said: "In this time of fast paced, schedule driven projects, we become increasingly dependent on document control systems that allow us to manage and access data easily and quickly -- Aconex does both well. Their customer support is both knowledgeable and friendly, which ensures that we maintain a streamlined project. The fact that Aconex incorporates customer feedback when improving their platform is fantastic and ensures that they continue to provide a market leading solution that benefits us across our project."

The deal with Cook Engineering furthers the expansion of Aconex in Canada, where it has recently secured some of the country's leading construction and engineering firms as clients including Genivar and Graham Construction.

Doug Rubingh, Aconex VP Engineering & Resources, said: "On high value developments such as this one, it's crucial that firms utilize best practice technologies to support on-time, on-budget delivery. By providing a neutral, third-party platform for storing and exchanging information, Aconex supports open collaboration between parties, which is essential for a project's success."

Aconex, www.aconex.com, is the world's largest provider of online project collaboration solutions to the construction, mining and energy industries. From its 35 offices worldwide, the company services US$220 billion worth of projects across 65 countries.
