American Energy Fields, Inc. Appoints Clive Bailey as Senior Geologist

PHOENIX, Aug. 24, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- American Energy Fields, Inc. (OTCBB:AEFI) (the "Company"), is pleased to announce it has appointed Clive Bailey as Senior Geologic Consultant. As a registered Certified Professional Geologist with over 35 years of experience in mineral exploration and operational mining management, Mr. Bailey brings to AEFI the qualifications needed to turn an exploration prospect with reserves into a producing mine.

Mr. Bailey has taken a leading role in numerous projects in the United States, China, and South America. Mr. Bailey's experience includes working for Energy Fuels Resources, a TSX.V listed uranium Exploration Company where he was responsible for evaluation, exploration, development, and project management. As Exploration Manager and Environmental Coordinator for Nord Resources Corporation from 2002 to 2005, he managed domestic exploration and headed up the work for an Aquifer Protection Permit for the Johnson Camp Mine in Cochise County, Arizona. From 1996 to 2000 Mr. Bailey served as Project Manager for General Minerals Corporation's Bolivia developments where he managed the Atocha and Azurita Projects, and co-discovered the Atocha (silver in sandstone) deposit. In China, he worked on the SAMCO J.V. Haung Shui Gou Project in the Sichuan Province. Additionally, Mr. Bailey served as Project Manager for Harvest Gold Corporation's Commonwealth Project where he was responsible for development drilling, permitting, and general mine planning. He directed an open-pit fifty man mine operation while serving as General Manager for Horizon Gold Corporation's Buffalo Valley Mine.

Most importantly, Mr. Bailey's work experience with General Electric, Cotter Corporation and Energy Fuels Nuclear will greatly compliment that of AEFI's current technical team. Mr. Bailey supervised in excess of 800,000 feet of uranium-vanadium exploration drilling for General Electric and Cotter Corporation. While with G.E. and Cotter he also worked on numerous mining programs, environmental permitting, and property evaluations which included the rhyolite tuffs in California where AEFI's Coso project is located. He served as Underground Mine Geologist for Energy Fuels Nuclear at the Hack Canyon uranium mine. The Hack Canyon Mine is a part of the uranium-bearing breccia pipes of the Arizona Strip where more than 20,000,000 pounds of U3O8 has been produced to date.

Mr. Bailey's work experience brings an important element to AEFI's development plans. He will be a key component of the evaluation and development process and will be an important contributor to all of AEFI's projects.

President Joshua Bleak said of the appointment, "We are excited to appoint Clive Bailey as Senior Geologist to the American Energy Fields team. We consider this a remarkable event. It is our goal to develop natural energy resources within U.S. borders and Mr. Bailey gives us the technical qualifications to do so. He has a hands-on understanding of drilling, mine development, mine production, and so many other important skills that are rare to find in one person. These skills are essential in building a successful mining company."
