COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwire - September 7, 2010) - 68.7% of Americans 18+ say they are somewhat/very concerned about the possibility of a double-dip recession while only 1 in 10 (10.4%) is not, according to the latest American Pulse™ Survey of 5,209 respondents. 34.9% think the government might be digging us into a deeper hole and 29.3% are afraid the government doesn't know how to dig us out. On the other hand, 31.0% are slightly worried, but believe things will turn out okay (4.8% aren't worried at all).
When it comes to registered voters, Democrats are the most optimistic in the economic future. But there appears to be concern that the government is digging the U.S. into a deeper hole across party lines.

- 64.9% think any candidate for presidency should have to make their birth certificate public before they can be elected to office...84.9% of Republicans, 51.1% of Democrats and 69.1% of Independents agree.
- Mosque near Ground Zero: 52.2% think it's insensitive to 9/11 families, 27.6% think it's a victory symbol by Muslim extremists, 26.3% think it's about religious freedom and 16.7% think it will improve Muslim-West relations.
- On a lighter note, the University of Alabama (6.9%) is respondents' favorite to win the NCAA, followed by The Ohio State University (5.8%) and the University of Florida (3.9%). 49.3% have no preference.
