Enea Launches Machine to Machine (M2M) Competence Center

Enea Launches Machine to Machine (M2M) Competence Center

Proven Expertise and Extensive Project Success Uniquely Position Company
to Deliver Development, Training and Support to Customers

STOCKHOLM, Sweden, 6 October, 2010 - Enea (NASDAQ OMX Nordic:ENEA) today
announced that in order to take full advantage of the opportunity
presented by the rapid growth in
the machine to machine (M2M) communications market, it has launched the
Enea M2M
Competence Center (www.enea.com/m2m (http://www.enea.com/m2m)) in
Linköping, Sweden. With several design wins
already in the M2M segment, the Enea decision to launch a development
center was a natural
extension of the company's strategy. Enea's M2M Competence Center will
offer a full range of
hardware and software development consulting solutions, training and
support. In addition, Enea
provides a flexible M2M development platform that can be customized to
meet application
requirements.

M2M communication is a rapidly emerging application segment in which
device nodes capture
data or information from sensors, meters or other components, which is
then transmitted over
fixed or wireless networks to a computer system. The computer system may
review and respond
to the information itself or translate and forward the information on to
other nodes or system
operators for further action. M2M communication streamlines and
accelerates business
processes, lowers costs and improves organizational efficiencies. While
M2M is applicable to
many markets it has seen the widest adoption in building and industrial
automation, supply chain
management, monitoring and security and remote payment systems.

“M2M is a great fit for Enea since we are able build on our deep
experience in realtime systems,
mobile devices and communications technology. Indeed, our proven success
with existing
customers has demonstrated that we have the right skill set, the correct
engagement models for
successful projects and the quality required by the market,” said Per
Johannesson, Vice
President at Enea Services Linköping. “The formation of the M2M
Competence Center will help
us focus our effort, gain access to additional resources and continue to
deliver customer projects
on time and on budget.”

The Enea M2M Competence Center has extensive experience in all aspects
of the M2M topology
including edge devices, communications technology and protocols, as well
as IT-centric
management systems. In addition, Enea's background in realtime and
highly reliable embedded
devices uniquely positions the company to tackle the development of
complex M2M systems.
Enea experts can design and build entire M2M systems, discrete parts of
a system, perform
system integration or execute testing and quality programs. In order
jump start projects, Enea
offers an extensible M2M development platform which can be adapted to
particular customer
requirements. By utilizing the robust, fault tolerant Enea M2M platform
projects can be completed
faster, at lower costs and with a high quality than starting from
scratch. Finally, for customers
who want to enhance their own knowledge of M2M, Enea offers a number of
training solutions
from full courses to targeted seminars.

Example projects executed by the Enea M2M Competence Center:

Industrial applications:
Enea designed and built a fluid tank control system with communication
capabilities. The control
system uses the Enea M2M platform for retrieving tank information, event
logs, to perform
software upgrades over the air and for SMS-based alarm-event
notification.
Network equipment applications:
Enea executed an M2M solution to supervise network equipment and present
its status in a web
interface. Through the web interface, the customer can remotely access
their equipment and
perform restarts and configuration.
Vehicle applications:
Enea was contracted to design and build an M2M telematic platform used
by the customer for
several products. The platform contains services for voice calls, SMS,
GPRS and GPS among
other features and has been used by third party developers to develop
dozens of applications
including emergency call, break-down call, theft notification, stolen
vehicle tracking, remote door
unlock and many other services.
