COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwire - October 14, 2010) - TeamDynamixHE today announced that Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio has deployed the company's web-based project and portfolio management (PPM) software to its technical staff within the school's Division of Information Resources. Xavier will initially use the solution for project management and portfolio analysis, and plans to leverage the time and expense modules and capacity planning in the near future. TeamDynamixHE PPM software was designed for the higher education market, and is driven in part by the insights and ideas of the TeamDynamixHE Advisory Committee, a self-governing body of TeamDynamixHE users.
Xavier's information resources division had been using a combination of Microsoft Project and Microsoft SharePoint, but the division leadership felt that it lacked a collaborative space for basic task management and resource allocation and a comprehensive portfolio for strategic decision-making. During its evaluation of PPM solutions, Xavier identified its core PPM needs as centralized task management, project ranking and score-carding, resource allocation management and reporting and analysis.
"We recognized that we needed a solution that would make our project decision-making more streamlined and strategic, as well as a system that would allow us to more efficiently manage our time and expenses for establishing budgetary goals. We found that in TeamDynamixHE," said Tim Bucher, project manager at Xavier University. "The solution's focus on higher education was a big differentiator among the other products on the market, and the ease-of-use of the software's different modules made it the right PPM solution for our team."
Xavier plans to have 50-100 resources using the system with a primary focus on the Division of Information Resources. In 12-24 months, Xavier will reassess its usage to determine if the variety of modules available in TeamDynamixHE will fit in other areas of the university.
"As we work with universities across the country, it is clear that many of the PPM solutions on the market, sold as higher education solutions, simply were not made for the unique environment that is present on campus," said Andrew Graf, lead analyst for TeamDynamixHE. "Xavier's situation is not unlike many of our current customers that were looking for a user-friendly, comprehensive PPM solution that meets their needs and will grow with the organization. We look forward to working with Xavier's IT team as it rolls out our product and adds new users and modules to help the Information Resources division be more efficient and strategic with its project portfolio."
