COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwire - November 16, 2010) - 36.5% of Americans say they are somewhat/very satisfied with midterm election results, according to the latest American Pulse™ Survey of 5,075 respondents. People who live in Texas (41.1%), Ohio (38.6%) and Florida (37.3%) are more satisfied than the national average, while those who live in California (31.2%) and New York (30.9%) are not.
It seems that Americans view the election results as a message to the Obama Administration to make changes, and voters from key states agree. People in Florida are more likely than other influential states to see the results as a message to rein in spending, repeal healthcare and extend Bush tax cuts. Texans are more likely to view them as a message to amend healthcare and take action on immigration.

Further, Americans tend to score President Obama low on handling of the economy and even worse on job creation. People who live in Florida are more likely to assign an "F" for his performance than other key states.

- 53.1% of Americans say they are less financially secure in 2010 than in years past. 59% who live in Florida, 53.3% who live in Texas, 52.4% who live in Ohio, 49% who live in California and 41% who live in New York agree.
- 34.7% of Americans believe that the Federal Reserve's plan to buy $600 billion in U.S. Treasury bonds is bad for the economy. 39.6% who live in Texas, 32.9% who live in Ohio, 32.2% who live in California, 30.4% who live in Florida and 27.7% who live in New York agree.
