ROCKVILLE, MD--(Marketwire - December 7, 2010) - Telvent (
More than fifty scientists and specialists were in attendance this weekend in Santa Fe, N.M., to analyze the application of information technologies to the energy sector, implementation of the smart grid, and progress made in the realm of cloud computing. The meeting was held on December 3-4 at the La Posada Resort in Santa Fe, N.M.
Telvent's CEO, Ignacio González, characterized the company's participation in the event as being "highly enriching and extremely apropos" given that "these workshops bring into discussion the progress being made in the applications developed by Telvent at its research centers, including smart grid expansion and cloud computing." According to González, initiatives such as the event taking place last weekend "bolster collaboration between the two countries and foster the development of multidisciplinary projects that benefit scientific and technological development."
The event, sponsored in part by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation and Telvent, begun last Friday with breakfast and a lecture on mobility models for ad hoc networks delivered by Josep Díaz, professor at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia. Over the course of the two-day event, experts from leading U.S. and Spanish universities and research centers were addressing the latest developments in high-performance computing, quantum computing, and information technologies.
