Klövern has made another major letting in Uppsala Business Park. The forest biotechnology company SweTree Technologies AB has entered into a seven-year lease for over 1,100 sq.m. with an base rent of SEK 1.5 million. The lease comprises approximately 1,100 sq.m. of laboratory and office space. Moving in will take place in stages starting in mid-December 2010. After moving in has been completed, the rent will be SEK 1.5 million per year, excluding appendix. Uppsala Business Park is becoming more and more attractive and the occupancy rate is continually rising. There are now more than 60 companies established in the park and this number is continuing to grow. SweTree Technologies AB, a development company in the forest industry, will set up a pilot facility for tree processing at the premises. The company is owned by Sveaskog, Bergvik Skog, Holmen and Stora Enso, among others, and works with developing new technology to improve the value and productivity of trees and wood fibres, not least as a source of energy. "To provide premises for a facility of this kind and for a company working at the same time for a good impact on the environment feels both exciting and right", says Klövern's CEO Gustaf Hermelin. "Klövern is providing the perfect premises for our project which involves producing seedlings for Swedish forestry. The project is intended to increase the production of wood and biomass per hectare by being able to make faster use of processed trees", says SweTree's CEO Mats Johnson. "This makes it possible to a higher extent to use the components of the wood in different ways to replace oil-based by renewable raw materials."
