Membership in the voluntary program, led by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, is awarded to businesses, federal entities, municipalities, and academic and community organizations based upon commitment to the program's core principles and submission of pollution prevention and waste reduction goals to improve and preserve Louisiana's environment. Progress in achieving these goals is tracked annually, and membership is renewed every three years based upon demonstrated, measurable results.
