IRVINE, CA--(Marketwire - March 24, 2011) - YouMail, Inc. (www.youmail.com) today announced that third parties have developed and released YouMail Visual Voicemail applications for Windows Phone 7, Windows 6.5, and Android. These new apps give Windows phone users a truly compelling Visual Voicemail experience, while giving Android users a new choice in interfaces and features for managing YouMail.
The Windows Phone 7 applications are MagikMail (http://www.youmail.com/apps/wp7/MagikMail) and MagikMail Lite (http://www.youmail.com/apps/wp7/MagikMailLite). These provide a feature-rich visual voicemail experience, similar to the official YouMail Android, iPhone and BlackBerry clients, including visual caller ID, easy message forwarding, a massive mailbox with the ability to organize messages in folders, and access to YouMail's premium human-edited transcriptions, when enabled. They also support the ability to sign up for YouMail directly through the app. MagikMail Lite is free and ad-supported. MagikMail is a one-time $1.99 purchase that eliminates advertising on the handset application, supports a Live Tile, and provides push notification of voicemails.
The Windows 6.5 application is YouView (http://www.youmail.com/apps/wp7/YouView), and is provided by the developers of the popular YouView application for Web OS. YouView is a completely free application that provides a similarly rich YouMail experience.
Meanwhile, Android users now have the option of interfacing with YouMail through "Better YouMail" (http://www.youmail.com/apps/android/BetterYouMail), which focuses on providing a clean, very visual design; a unique "call and delete feature," which allows users to return a call and delete the message with a single press; and full Bluetooth headset support (both mono and stereo). The application is $2.99, and requires users to first sign up for YouMail at www.youmail.com
Users of all of these applications have complete access to YouMail's other features, including:
- Manage voicemail from almost any mobile device, including through youmail.com on any computer, tablet, smart phone, or e-mail.
- Setting up personal greetings heard only by specific family, friends, or co-workers.
- Playing and using prerecorded greetings supplied by other YouMailers.
- Blocking specific people from leaving voicemail.
- Creating your own folders to help organize voicemail.
- Connecting to Facebook, so that your friends' pictures show up when they leave messages.
- Easily posting messages to your Facebook wall, Twitter, or your blog.
- Saving important voicemails forever, whether on the iPhone or computer.
All of these apps were built on top of YouMail's public API at http://api.youmail.com, and run on top of YouMail's massively scalable platform for building communication applications and services.
"We're really pleased to see these new, third-party YouMail applications," commented CEO Alex Quilici. "These third-party developers have given users of Windows Phone devices access to the full YouMail visual voicemail experience, and Android users choice in how they use YouMail."
YouMail is available to post-paid mobile users in the US on all major carriers including AT&T Wireless, Verizon Wireless, Sprint, and T-Mobile. YouMail can also be used to unify a user's mobile voicemail with their voice messages from VOIP service providers such as Google Voice, MagicJack, OOMA, and Vonage.
