NEW YORK, NY and LONDON--(Marketwire - Apr 25, 2011) - HfS Research (http://www.HfSresearch.com), the leading research analyst firm covering global outsourcing and shared services strategies, today announced the appointment of Tony Filippone as Research Vice President for Governance, Sourcing and Healthcare strategies.
Filippone's prime focus at HfS is delivering research, thought-leadership, practical advice, and imparting real-world vendor management experience to buy-side clients and service providers on what really matters -- how to govern outsourcing programs in a manner that creates real value to all parties. He also oversees the company's research in the healthcare industry and the document management and call center Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) markets.
Prior to joining HfS, Tony Filippone spent almost nine years at WellPoint, Inc., the United States' largest health benefits company, where he held multiple leadership roles. He initiated and led the company's enterprise-wide BPO governance for a multi-vendor, multi-process program involving thousands of staff. He also led strategic sourcing in complex indirect services procurement, where he managed the selection and enterprise-wide implementation of an industry leading procurement application while simultaneously leading cross-functional sourcing teams in outsourcing, marketing, consulting, facilities, contingent labor, and human resources categories.
Before joining WellPoint, Tony spent seven years consulting with Accenture and MarchFirst, where he specialized in business process simulation and reengineering, strategic customer relationship management, and post-merger/acquisition integration management.
Commenting on his appointment, Filippone, said, "Day-to-day execution is outsourcing industry's biggest challenge. Long after the lawyers have left and the senior executives have made the big decision to outsource, buyer and service providers' governance and vendor management professionals are struggling to succeed in an incredibly complex environment. It is time to shine the light on the governance and vendor management activities that drive performance, real value and joint satisfaction."
HfS CEO and Head of Research, Phil Fersht, added, "Having worked with Tony in the industry for several years, he has always been our number one choice to lead our governance research. He has re-written the rule-book for vendor management during his many years at WellPoint, and will be an incredible asset for delivering industry-leading research and advice for HfS clients."
