David Carroll to Offer Perspectives on Gas and the Smart Energy Future

BURLINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - Apr 26, 2011) - Gas Technology Institute (GTI) CEO David Carroll will be a featured speaker at KEMA's fourth annual Utility of the Future Leadership Forum, "Shaping the Future." Carroll will be part of the senior executive panel examining the role of natural gas in the emerging smart grid-enabled utility future at the KEMA forum, June 6-8, 2011, at The Four Seasons, Denver, Colo.

Carroll will share insight into the roles of natural gas and smart grid technologies in support of a safe, secure, and sustainable energy future. He will join CEOs of Avista, Questar, and United Illuminating for the panel session discussion "Gas - Part of the New Smart Grid Paradigm" on Tuesday, June 7.

"Natural gas is an abundant, domestic, affordable, low-carbon energy source for all segments of the economy. Integrating natural gas with electricity from diverse resources, including renewables, plays a critical role in the smart energy future," said Carroll. "Gas offers a strategic resource for electricity generation and a smart resource for homes and businesses."

The 2011 Utility of the Future Leadership Forum features one and one-half days of discussion about industry game changers, new business models, and the changing roles of utilities, customers, and suppliers. Executive-level panel discussions will focus on CEOs' views of the future utility: the road to sustainability, gas as part of the smart grid paradigm, the integration of new and ever-changing technologies, and consumer and 'prosumer' engagement. Throughout the forum, there will be high-level networking opportunities to share perspectives, collaborate, and engage in dialog.

Senior executives are invited to join their peers in the Utility of the Future discussions to share ideas and discover opportunities to shape a more sustainable, reliable, profitable utility of the future.
