CEO Presentation at SIFMA Symposium Urges IT Security Measures to Prevent Successful Keylogging Attacks

Corporate "Road Warriors" Unwittingly Are Party to Increased Security Risks That Facilitate Data Breaches and Stolen Data

EDISON, NJ--(Marketwire - Apr 27, 2011) - StrikeForce Technologies (OTCQB: SFOR), an innovator in the prevention of online Identity Theft and Data Breaches for the enterprise, government and consumers utilizing its patented and pending protection products, today reports that the company's CEO, Mark L. Kay, will be one of the featured speakers at the Securities Industry and Financial Management Association's (SIFMA) Internal Auditors Society IT Audit Training Seminar. Mr. Kay's presentation on Wednesday, April 27th, at the SIFMA Conference Center, 120 Broadway, 2nd Floor, New York, NY, 10271, focuses on how financial industry firms can provide secure access to a company's computer network, for employees and customers accessing the network from remote locations.

With more and more employees working from home, or while away on travel, remote access to corporate computer networks is rapidly increasing. While overall productivity enhancement cannot be denied, the downside, however, is that with an ever increasing number of employees accessing their workplace network from home or the road, there are ever increasing opportunities for hackers to penetrate the network, via laptops and mobile devices that have been infected with "keylogger" spyware that captures login and password information and surreptitiously transmits it to ever more bold and sophisticated hackers.

These hackers -- both individuals and now foreign governmental actors -- are utilizing "keylogger" hacks and compromising networks, stealing data and causing billions of dollars of damage and monetary loss each year. Mr. Kay will be discussing these topics and how industry organizations and governmental regulations are demanding that anti-keylogging and other security protocols are being required.

Data that begins to flesh out how extensive and pervasive the problem is to be expanded upon by Mr. Kay includes:

  • Forrester predicts about 34 million employees will work from their residence occasionally in 2011 and 68 million by 2016, up from 2 million in 2009.

  • Federal Government increased its budget for Cyber solutions 10 fold, from approximately $1.7B in 2007 to $17B in 2008.

  • Sixty million malware programs are written annually now; up from 3 million in 2007, McAfee president Dave DeWalt told a conference that included government information technology specialists. Keyloggers installed unwillingly are the major cause (Nextgov 4/20/11).

  • Epsilon, RSA and Hartford data breaches, and last week's bank heists all had "keylogger" trojan horse malware utilized as part of the hacks.

"We're not going to alter the trend of increasingly mobile employees," said Mark Kay, StrikeForce's CEO. "But by securing the laptops and other devices by which 'road warriors' access company networks, we can make it much more difficult for keylogging hacks to be successful. Our suite of security software, like GuardedID® is designed to encrypt keystrokes and make them invisible even if spyware is installed on a laptop or workstation. We create a secure IT operation to deny those who would otherwise use the information to glean log-in identities and their respective passwords."
