· Profit after tax for January-March 2011 was SEK 370 million
(January-March 2010: SEK 178 million).
· Earnings per share were SEK 4.4 (2.1). Return on equity was 8.8 per
cent (4.3).
· Operating profit totalled SEK 558 million (320). The improvement is
explained by higher prices for newsprint and paperboard, while higher
costs for wood and recovered paper had an adverse impact on the result.
Compared to the fourth quarter, operating profit excluding items
affecting comparability improved by SEK 197 million, mainly as a result
of higher newsprint prices.
· Demand for newsprint in Europe remained at the same level as one
year ago. The market situation for Holmen's paperboard products remained
robust, while the market for sawn timber was weak.
