LAGUNA BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - Jul 26, 2011) - This Sunday, July 31st, things get spicy at the Laguna Beach Festival of Arts!
Flamenco virtuoso Claudia de la Cruz will light up the Festival stage with the thundering sensuality of authentic Spanish Flamenco, as the popular series Art in Motion: From Hip Hop to Tango continues to delight Festival visitors. Ms. Cruz has traveled the globe and performed with the world's most celebrated Flamenco artists, and this Sunday she treats Festival guests to a dramatic performance of this art form well known for its tradition, strength and passion.
For Festival visitors with a penchant for spicy flavors, Chef Joffrey Lopez returns this Sunday to continue the Art of Cooking series, presented by Williams Sonoma. Chef Joffrey will demonstrate, in a fun and engaging way, the preparation of a tasty dish. This week's featured recipe is salsa and guacamole -- choosing the perfect vegetables. Spectators will not only learn how to make the recipe themselves, they'll also get to help Chef Joffrey eat what he prepares!
In the cool of the evening, visitors will get to shake a leg to the tunes of their favorite Beatles songs, performed live by Jason Feddy and Friends as the ever-popular Beatles Classics series continues.
Throughout the day, guests can take guided art tours, watch art demonstrations, participate in free art workshops in mixed media and printmaking, and they can enjoy ceramics workshops for a materials fee of just $15.
"This Sunday is going to be one of the most memorable Sundays of the season," said Susan Davis, director of special events for the Festival of Arts. "If you haven't come out for a sensational Sunday yet, now is the time!"
There is no extra cost beyond admission to the Festival of Arts for guests to enjoy sensational Sunday special events at the Festival of Arts. From 1-2pm enjoy Art of Cooking with Chef Joffrey Lopez; from 3-4pm enjoy Flamenco in Art in Motion: From Hip Hop to Tango and from 6-8pm enjoy Beatles Classics.
