BIRMINGHAM, Mich., Aug. 3, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The National Arab American Medical Association (NAAMA) announced its 33rd National Medical Convention at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, September 2-5, 2011. Themed "Integrated Medical Care Delivery in the Era of Healthcare Reform," scientific sessions will address cardiology, pulmonary/sleep medicine, minimally invasive surgery, diabetes, hypertension, dental care as part of preventive medicine, the application of new modalities in radiology and clinical and translational research.
The convention will feature a social program highlighting Las Vegas on and off the strip and a concert by internationally renowned Arab composer and musician Simon Shaheen and his Arab Orchestra with special guest vocalists to benefit NAAMA's Emergency Medical Relief Fund. In response to continuing violence in Arab countries, the NAAMA Foundation established the Relief Fund to provide medical supplies and equipment to the victims and support to fellow medical professionals struggling to care for them.
The 90-minute concert, open to the public, will take place on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 8:30 p.m. at Avriopolis Las Vegas.
