NEW YORK, NY and MIAMI, FL--(Marketwire - Sep 20, 2011) - Yeats Clinical [Yeats], an emerging innovator of software solutions for healthcare environments, today revealed early results from select beta users of its new cloud-based product. The technology gives physicians in small practices an effortless way to manage their practice and maintain electronic health records (EHRs). In addition to efficiency advantages, the users touted the product's unique customizability and flexibility when compared to conventional solutions. Moreover, because it's easy to deploy, minimal disruption to the practice work-flow was reported. These benefits were cited as attractive for busy practitioners focused on delivering state-of-the-art patient care and optimizing practice time. The same benefits make the product ideal for specialty physicians migrating to EHRs to comply with new Federal healthcare regulations.
Headquartered in New York City, Yeats is a subsidiary of Ireland-based Socrates Healthcare, an entrenched provider of EHR solutions to medical practices worldwide. With beta testing nearing completion, the company plans a formal product roll-out in the coming months.
The beta results were announced in tandem with an Enterprise Ireland-supported trade mission to four South East States led by Ireland's Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton. Yeats and its parent company are participating in the mission today in Miami, FL. Enterprise Ireland is the government organization responsible for the development and growth of Irish businesses in world markets.
According to the doctors and staff at Allay Medical in New York City, "The implementation of Yeats Clinical EHR was not so much about an electronic database of our patients' records, but about the opportunity to change how we care for our patients. Yeats Clinical gives us the tools we need at every level of care, whether in the emergency room at 3:00 a.m. or answering patient inquiries in the office. We wonder how we cared for patients without it."
Yeats is set to enter the market at a time of growth. In 2010 nearly $30 billion was spent on healthcare IT solutions in the US. This figure is likely to grow as more physicians take advantage of Federal incentives to create paperless practices. Specifically, the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health [HITECH] Act allocated up to $36 billion over the coming years to help physicians transition to EHRs. Today, even with the incentives, only about 20 percent of physicians have made the switch. This creates a substantial market opportunity for companies like Yeats who can deliver sophisticated yet uncomplicated software that qualifies for incentives -- easing the migration for physicians while making it more affordable.
"Our intention was to develop a product 'for physicians by physicians' and make it the most practice-centric product on the market," said Yeats' CEO, Elaine Brennan. "We're very encouraged by the beta feedback and excited to be taking our technology one step closer to market."
