PEARL RIVER, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 26, 2011) - Daniel Butzbaugh, a specialist in alternative risk transfer and the capital markets, has joined U.S. RE Corporation as a Senior Broker, Tal Piccione, Chairman/CEO, announced.
"Dan Butzbaugh brings extensive experience in reinsurance together with the capital markets including structured reinsurance, catastrophe bonds, and other non-traditional insurance/reinsurance products -- areas where U.S. RE has long been active," Piccione said.
He also worked in close coordination with investment banks and reinsurance brokers in London and Bermuda on placing programs with capital market investors. While working in weather-related reinsurance broking at Tradition Financial Services in 2002/2003, his sector was ranked #1 by Energy and Power Risk Management and in 2003 by Environmental Finance.
He comes to U.S. RE from GFI Group, Inc., New York, after serving as Assistant Vice President in the Structured Products Division of Quanta U.S. Holdings, New York, and Account Executive and Risk Analyst at Willis Re, New York. Butzbaugh began his career with Transamerica Financial Services in Oak Park, IL. He holds an MBA from St. John's University and a BA in Financial Planning from Purdue where he was a member of the Varsity Football Team.
