When: Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at 3:30pm BST
Panel Discussion: "IP Everywhere and Everything over IP: How is the Operational Impact Influencing Evolution Paths?"
Details: Tom Schnarr, together with presenters from Cox Communications and CableLabs, will discuss what challenges operators face when migrating customers to next-generation service delivery platforms, with a particular focus on the economic requirements as well as recommended migration strategies. The panel will also investigate the impact on OSS/BSS back office systems and why it's important to develop common interfaces.
Cable operators face the challenge of migrating their existing digital cable customers over to the more advanced IP video platform in a manageable fashion. The back office challenge, along with orchestrating the evolution to IP video technology, can be met with support from experienced OSS vendors like Sigma Systems that are well versed in both linear video delivery and the newer IP video delivery platforms. Sigma Systems' IP Video Services Accelerator allows the migration to and the integration with next-generation platforms in a managed and controlled manner with minimal impact on the upstream systems.
