The Alzheimer Society of Canada Announces Mr. Naguib Gouda as New Chief Executive Officer


TORONTO, Oct. 14, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Leslie A Beck, Board Chair of The Alzheimer Society of Canada (ASC) announced today the selection of Mr. Naguib Gouda as its next Chief Executive Officer. He joins ASC on December 12, 2011.

Mr. Gouda is a skilled, multilingual communicator with extensive corporate experience and a lifelong commitment to volunteering. He has served on numerous boards and committees including the Toronto Distress Centre, Big Brothers Big Sisters Canada and United Way of Greater Toronto. Naguib held senior executive positions in marketing, strategic planning and project management at Manulife Financial Corporation and the Bank of Montreal and York University before moving to the not-for-profit sector in 2004.

During his time at York University he transformed the Alumni Board, oversaw the streamlining of data collection and management, strengthened the bonds between the University and its alumni and supported the York University Foundation in its fundraising efforts through the University's 50th anniversary campaign.

In addition to his current role as CEO, OMA Insurance Inc., Naguib oversees a number of programs at the Ontario Medical Association - Membership Services and Operations, Physician Leadership Development, Physician Health, Physician Workplace Support and all government funded programs. Naguib was one of the leaders in helping the Canadian Medical Association and provincial and territorial Medical Associations come to an Alliance Agreement for their Wealth Management and Insurance lines of business.

Naguib has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University with majors in accounting and finance and an MBA from York University's Schulich School of Business (in conjunction with the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce, Lyon, France) with majors in marketing and international business. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of Wish Opera and the Tribute Dinner Committee of The Learning Partnership.

In making the announcement, Board Chair, Leslie A.
