Dremel(R) Boosts Its Oscillating Performance With Two New Multi-Max(TM) Tools

Two new, high-performance tools, the Dremel Multi-Max™ MM20 and Dremel Multi-Max MM40, allow users to tackle a wider array of oscillating applications with increased tool power and capabilities -- making any task on a do-it-yourselfer or remodeler's to-do list that much easier to complete.

Tools
The Dremel Multi-Max MM20's 2.3 amp motor is more powerful than the Dremel brand's current oscillating tool, enhancing tool performance and allowing for faster, more precise cuts in a wide variety of materials. With a variable speed range of 10,000 - 21,000 oscillations per minute, the MM20 allows DIYers to power through their to-do lists with detail, precision and optimal performance.

The best-in-class Dremel Multi-Max MM40 boasts a 2.5 amp motor that delivers quick, efficient cuts, rivaling current top-of-the-line competitors at a fraction of the cost. Users also benefit from the tool's innovative Quick Lock™ accessory change system that quickly and securely facilitates accessory changes without a hex wrench or other equipment, eliminating any worry or frustration over losing the tool's screw and washer. The MM40 operates between 10,000 to 21,000 OPM and offers a soft-start feature that minimizes abrupt starts and provides a feeling of control as the tool ramps up to the desired speed. Regrout shower/bath area
No one wants to spend time in a bathroom that permanently appears dirty. In fact, nearly half of consumers (48%) choose do-it-yourself projects to help them clean or freshen up a space^*. Regrouting your old bath or shower area is a quick and easy way to give your bathroom a facelift:

1. To protect your shower/bath area, line the edge of the tile or work area with tape. Then, insert the MM501 1/16-Inch or MM500 1/8-Inch Carbide Grout Blade into the Dremel Multi-Max tool and secure. Set the tool to medium to high speed.
2. Slowly guide the blade into the grout. In smooth, even motions, push the tool along the grout line to begin removal. Depending on how hard the grout is, more than one pass may be required. If needed, rotate the blade to get into tight corners -- remember to unplug the tool before changing the blade.
3. Keep the blade parallel to whatever ledge you're working with, allowing the tool to meet the wall at a right angle. To avoid scratching, do not allow it to rest on any ledges. To control plunge depth, use the carbide grit line on the blade as an indicator. Do not plunge beyond grit line to prevent harming the backer board. When finished, dust off edges of your tile and remove the tape.
4. Apply new grout to the desired areas and allow to dry.

Turn wooden cabinet into decorative glass-front cabinet
Americans who live in a home that is fewer than 25 years old are significantly more likely to want to change the décor (44%)^*. Remodeling kitchen cabinets to feature a glass front is a great way to add a little pop to the room:

1. Detach cabinet door from cabinet. Attach the MM480 Cutting Blade to a Dremel Multi-Max. Plunge the blade into cabinet door along outer line edge of the raised panel portion you wish to remove. (Recommended: Use the side of the panel or any molding as a straight edge. Follow trim line to maintain a straight, even cut).
2. Working slowly, continue to carefully plunge the blade along all four sides of the interior panel until it is free from the door. Then, remove the wooden panel from the door.
3. Working from the interior side of the door, use the Dremel Trio^™ with TR800 Straight Edge Guide and a TR654 Straight Router Bit to rout a recessed edge to place a glass panel into. Making multiple passes with an increased cutting depth to achieve the required depth is recommended.
4. Attach the MM14 Hook and Loop Pad and 240-grit MM70W Wood Sand Paper to the tool. Sand along cut lines to smooth any rough spots.
5. Turn over the cabinet door and insert glass panel into groove. Attach the glass panel to back of cabinet door using silicone adhesive or mirror mounting hardware. Once the adhesive has dried, reattach cabinet door to cabinet.

The Dremel Multi-Max MM20 and Dremel Multi-Max MM40 will be available at most hardware and home improvement centers nationwide in September and November, respectively. The MM20 will retail for a suggested retail price of $99.99 USD and $119 CAD, and the MM40 has a SRP of $139.99 USD and CAD.
