SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 2, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Managing the complexities of physical and virtual computing assets, plus public, private and hybrid clouds will be the topic of a session by Arsalan Farooq, CEO of Convirture, at the Cloud Expo in Santa Clara, California, next week.
"Managing Complexity: The Next Great Frontier for Cloud Computing" will cover the transition from virtual to cloud computing, along with managing the mix of physical, virtual and cloud resources. The session is Thursday, November 10 at 2:45 p.m.
Farooq founded Convirture in 2007 to help organizations effectively manage open source virtualization platforms.
The event (http://cloudcomputingexpo.com) takes place in Santa Clara from November 7-10 and is expected to attract more than 5,000 attendees.
"Because cloud computing brings potential issues such as complexity, fragmentation and workload management, IT managers need a unified way to manage everything they have - whether physical, virtual or cloud computing resources," said Arsalan Farooq, CEO, Convirture. "Delivering a solid return-on-investment requires proper allocation and management of all computing resources."
Last month, Convirture released ConVirt Enterprise Cloud - software that manages virtualized datacenters and cloud deployments built on KVM and Xen virtual machines. It provides the capability to manage an entire virtual and cloud infrastructure from a single console, including private clouds, hybrid clouds, traditional virtual machines as well as public cloud resources such as Amazon EC2.
