AJAX, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 16, 2011) - Environmental Waste International Inc. (EWS) (TSX VENTURE:EWS) announced that its TR900 Pilot Plant (TR900) in Sault Ste. Marie (SSM) recently operated for eleven continuous hours and produced enough high quality representative samples of recaptured carbon black (CB), oil and steel to allow EWS to submit samples for independent analysis and for testing by potential end users.
Initial lab results on the CB have exceeded EWS' expectations. The TR900 CB appears to be better than any previously recovered and tested CB from earlier systems. EWS has also received a promising initial report from a synthetic rubber manufacturer that tested the TR900 oil as a replacement for its production oil. Further sampling and testing will be needed to confirm consistency in the samples, to determine any additional processing that may be required and to establish a market value for these byproducts.
EWS is now working on isolating and dealing with the issues relating to the uninterrupted operation of the system. Several areas have been identified that will require modification, adjustment or redesign to allow for continuous operation. All of these issues appear to be mechanical and EWS believes that overcoming them will involve straightforward engineering.
In late August, EWS hosted an Open House to allow interested parties in SSM to visit the facility and witness the TR900 in operation. A recently released Shaw TV video of the event and the operating system can be viewed from a link on the EWS website.
EWS has also designed processors for the environmentally safe sterilization and disposal of medical, biological, liquid and food waste and for the recovery of usable byproducts from other organic sources. EWS continues to explore other applications for its technology. Please visit the EWS webpage on the Internet at: www.ewmc.com for additional information.
