Fierce, Inc. to Speak With Educators at 2011 Learning Forward Conference

Leadership Development and Training Organization, Fierce, Inc., Partners With Education Organizations to Provide Communication Training in Schools

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 5, 2011) - Fierce, Inc., a global leadership and development training company that drives results for organizations by improving workplace communication, today announced that the company's founder, Susan Scott, will be speaking at Learning Forward's 2011 Annual Conference. The event will bring together educators from around the world who will explore today's critical topics in leadership, professional learning, and school improvement. Susan's session will be based on the Fierce Accountability model, and will highlight examples of Fierce training in the schools.

In its work within the education sector and corporations around the world, Fierce recognized a disconnect between what is being taught in the schools and what companies are looking for in ideal job candidates. As the economy has struggled over the past five years, it has become apparent that securing employment is difficult for recent graduates. Part of the difficulty stems from the perception that the Millennial generation doesn't have the communication skills necessary to succeed in the workforce. Fierce believes that developing professional communication and leadership skills is an integral part of every student's education and has partnered with educational institutions to build capacity and train effective communication practices in the schools.

Since 2002, Fierce, Inc. has been working with schools all over the world through the Fierce in the Schools (FITS) initiative. Through the FITS program, Fierce provides the education community with tools to enliven classrooms, improve learning outcomes, and enhance the ability of administrators, teachers, and their students to navigate their lives one conversation at a time. Fierce has partnered with organizations such as the Riverdale Joint Unified School District in California, Lake County Office of Education, Iowa Department of Education, Buena Vista University, and the University of Washington.

Elaine Cash, Superintendent of the Riverdale Joint Unified School District, talks about the Fierce training: "Everyone in the district became committed to powerful learning. From the custodians to the school board, people were not afraid of building relationships with each other as well as with other students, an element so necessary to bring students to learning."

"Fierce is committed to creating better communication practices in schools. The reality is that the current students are our future leaders," says Halley Bock, CEO of Fierce. "Our goal is to transform classrooms into communities of fully engaged students who not only achieve their learning outcomes, but who demonstrate greater personal authenticity, accountability, and an improved capacity to successfully navigate their lives."
