LENEXA, KS--(Marketwire - Jan 30, 2012) - Matt Motsick, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Catapult International, has been recognized as a 2012 Rising Star by KC Business magazine. The third annual program honors outstanding Kansas City leaders under the age of 40 in both for-profit companies and not-for-profit organizations.
An independent panel of area business and civic leaders selected the exclusive group based on dedication, personal growth, hard work, and community involvement.
Motsick co-founded the Lenexa, Kansas based software company after discovering that the international shipping industry was behind on technology. As a traffic manager of an import/export company, he identified that shipping companies needed an online system to retrieve their freight rates such as Travelocity.com. With over 100% annual growth and increasing employees from 4 to 40 within two years, Catapult services accounts such as FedEx and Carnival Cruise Lines as well as other global corporations.
"The Rising Star awards give us the opportunity to highlight Kansas City's next generation of business and civic leaders," says Julius Karash, executive director of KC Business and Commercial Journal magazines. "This year's program was particularly competitive. I was personally inspired by their accomplishments, commitment, and philanthropic endeavors."
Rising Stars will be profiled in the February 2012 issue of KC Business magazine.
