Perlick Corporation's Shallow-Depth Series of Undercounter Refrigeration Earns Internationally Acclaimed GOOD DESIGN(R) Award

MILWAUKEE, Wis., March 7, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Perlick Corporation, a leader in total package bar equipment, beverage dispensing systems, and luxury residential undercounter refrigeration, today announced that its new Shallow-Depth Series of undercounter refrigerators, beverage centers and wine reserves has earned the 2011 GOOD DESIGN® Award in the Commercial Fittings/Supplies category.

Often referred to as the "Oscar's of industrial design," GOOD DESIGN began in 1950 and is now recognized as the world's largest and most distinguished design competition. The program annually bestows international recognition upon the world's most prominent designers and manufacturers for advancing new, visionary, and innovative product concepts, invention and originality, and for stretching the envelope beyond what is considered ordinary product and consumer design.

"Perlick designed the world's first line of shallow-depth undercounter refrigeration to accommodate what we recognized as a growing need for innovative refrigeration that featured the ability to accommodate modern-design specifications," states Jeff Wimberly, vice president of sales and marketing for Perlick's Residential and Hospitality Products. "We are honored that Perlick's design, engineering, and manufacturing efforts to create the unique Shallow-Depth Series have been recognized and were awarded by GOOD DESIGN."

Designed by Perlick as a result of requests from specifiers, the Shallow-Depth Series includes the world's first undercounter refrigerator, beverage center and wine reserve to feature an 18-inch depth. The industry exclusive depth allows for installation in unique hospitality, residential and commercial design applications such as; modern kitchens with shallow cabinets, kitchen islands, lounges, offices, hospitals, hotels and sporting arenas.

In addition to its unequalled measurements, the Shallow-Depth Series is ADA-compliant, available with the option of either a solid or glass door, powered by a whisper-quiet 700 Btu compressor and Perlick's RAPIDcoolTM refrigeration technology, which boasts the fastest temperature pull-down in the industry – room temperature beverages are ice cold in less than 30 minutes. And, as a result of such powerful cooling technology, both food and beverages can be stored in the units.

GOOD DESIGN's 2011 awards were the largest ever by country. Thousands of award entries were received from the world's leading manufacturers and graphic design firms located in more than 48 countries. All winning designs for GOOD DESIGN 2011 can be viewed on the museum's website: www.chi-athenaeum.org.
