STEC Showcasing Latest Solid-State Storage Solutions at Embedded Systems Conference

Product Demonstrations Highlight Data Logging, Data Caching and Fast Backup Capabilities of STEC's MACH16(TM) Slim SATA Solid-State Drive

SAN JOSE, Calif., March 27, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Embedded Systems Conference (ESC) -- STEC, Inc. (Nasdaq:STEC), a leading global provider of solid-state drive (SSD) technologies and products, today announced that it will demonstrate its newest embedded product, the MACH16™Slim SATA SSD, at the Embedded Systems Conference (ESC), Booth #2134, from March 27 through March 29 inside the McEnery Convention Center. STEC will also showcase its entire portfolio of other embedded solid-state storage solutions, which includes the CFast™ SATA SSD, CompactFlash CF Card, USB Flash Module (UFM) and industrial USB Flash Drive (UFD).

STEC's MACH16 Slim SATA SSD is a small, simple and efficient solid-state storage solution that enables system designers to shrink the total embedded storage footprint by 60 percent, while consuming up to 70 percent less power than a HDD or conventional SSD. The MACH16 Slim SATA SSD provides embedded system designers with the same advanced flash management technology as STEC's enterprise SSDs, delivering the data integrity, endurance and reliability required by the embedded market segment. These features make the MACH16 Slim SATA SSD ideally suited for high-performance industrial and rugged embedded systems.

ESC Booth #2134 Live Demonstrations

STEC representatives will host the following demonstrations at the conference:

  1. Data Logging: Simulates a workload of small/random writes, with sequential writes to simulate the larger log updates, and small reads inserted to simulate file system operations.
  2. Data Caching: Simulates a heavy workload environment where all IO transfer sizes are small/random, with the majority of IOs coming as reads.
  3. Fast Backup: Simulates a workload consisting entirely of writing, mostly sequential, with a few random writes.
