Derivatives: Introduction of options on Exchange Traded Funds (29/12)


As of May 2, 2012 NASDAQ OMX will introduce standardised options on Exchange Traded Funds (ETF) with the XACT OMXS30 ETF as the underlying ETF.

The XACT OMXS30 ETF is an exchange traded index fund and its objective is to follow the performance of the OMXS30 index as closely as possible. The index consists of 30 of the most traded shares on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.

In NASDAQ OMX’s derivative trading and clearing systems, the ticker symbol for the XACT OMXS30 ETF is XACT and the underlying code is 985. The submarket code for call options is SESC, and for put options SESP. For margin calculation purposes, XACT is included in group 1 of the parameter value list with a scanning range of +/- 9 percent. Series will be generated to April 30, 2012 and will be tradable as from May 2, 2012.

A dedicated Market Maker will be quoting prices for options on XACT OMXS30 ETF.
