AUSTIN, Texas, May 3, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Emergency Animal Hospital of Northwest Austin (EAHNWA) announced that veterinarian Nicole Dockrey, DVM DAAPM, has joined the veterinary hospital's team. Prior to joining EAHNWA, Dr. Dockrey taught veterinary medicine to the Houston-based Cypress Creek EMS Advanced Tactical Team. Dr. Dockrey is also the past president of Austin's Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association. Together with the vet clinic's emergency veterinary team, Dr. Dockrey will provide after-hours emergency vet care for Austin pets requiring urgent medical attention.
Dr. Scott Johnson, an emergency veterinarian and owner of Emergency Animal Hospital of NW Austin (EAHNWA) announced that emergency veterinarian Dr. Nicole Dockrey has joined the hospital's veterinary team.

Dr. Dockrey received her degree cum laude from Texas A&M University in 1999. She was a member of Phi Zeta, the honors society for veterinary medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Dockrey worked in Houston, teaching tactical veterinary medicine to the Cypress Creek EMS Advanced Tactical Team. She also served as the secretary for the North-Houston Montgomery County Veterinary Medical Association for four years.
After relocating to Austin with her family, Dr. Dockrey served from 2009 to 2011 as the president of the Capital Area Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Dockrey is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, the American Academy of Pain Management, and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. As a credentialed Diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management, Dr. Dockrey is currently working towards obtaining her credentials as a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner.
Dr. Dockrey, life-long animal lover, lives with her husband, their two young children, their dog named Martha, their cat named Flauta, and a large collection of fish.
